Looking to play your dragonborn as a high powered mage hurling fireballs around at your foes? It might be in your best interest to join the guild of other like minded mages to pull it off well, since the guild is where you can purchase and achieve all of the best spells in the game.
Step 1)Travel to Winterhold.
You can do this as soon as you start playing the game if you like. The fastest way to get here if you haven't discovered it yet is to head over to the Whiterun stables and talk to the man in the wagon outside, he'll offer to take you directly there for a bit of coin, well worth the trip. Pay him and hop in the back and you'll be fast traveled right to the mage college doorstep.
Speak to the woman on the bridge.
If you look around Winterhold you'll see this bridge heading off towards the collage. This is your destination, but there's a woman standing in your way. Talk to her and tell her you are looking to join and she'll ask you to complete a test. Alternately, if you have spent some time with the Greybeards training to be the dragonborn, you can just tell her who you are and she will let you pass.
Step 3)Pass the test and talk to Mirabelle Ervine.
Whether you pass the test by casting the spell she asks you to cast (If you don't know it she will give it to you), or by telling her you are the Dragonborn, you can now move past her to enter the collage itself. Find Mirabelle Ervine located within and she will get you started on your training after a quick tour of the college now that you have been accepted into the college.
This is just how you first join the guild, you'll be in it for the long haul if you want access to all of the spells. You can even become the arch mage yourself if you keep at it.
