How to Upgrade from Windows 8 to Windows 10
If your computer runs Windows 8, you can upgrade to Windows 10 for free.
There are two ways you can upgrade Windows 8 to Windows 10:

In the first method, the process to upgrade to Windows 10 is identical to a clean install with the exception that when you are on the Which type of installation do you want screen, you must choose Upgrade: Install Windows and keep files, settings, and applications option to upgrade.
In the second method, no bootable media is needed. A USB drive containing Windows 10 installation files can help you upgrade to Windows 10. You can get the installation files for Windows 10 by downloading its .ISO image and then extracting the files from the image using a program like 7zip or WinRAR.

- ■Log on or sign in to your Windows 8 computer with any account that has admin privileges.
■Insert the Windows 10 installation disc or connect the USB drive containing the Windows 10 installation files.
■Click the blue pop-up box that appears.
■From the displayed options in the next pop-up box, click Run setup.exe.
Note: If the pop-up box does not appear, go to the USB drive and double-click the setup.exe file.
■On the User Account Control confirmation box, click Yes to provide your consent to continue.
■Wait for Windows setup to prepare the installation.
■On the Get important updates window, ensure that the Download and install updates (recommended) radio button is selected.
■From the bottom of the window, verify if the I want to help make the installation of Windows better checkbox is checked.
■Click Next to proceed to the next step.
■Check the I accept the license terms checkbox from the bottom of the License terms page and click Accept.
■On the Ready to install window, verify what information would be kept intact after the upgrade and click Install.
Note: To change what data should Windows keep during and after the upgrade, you can click the Change what to keep link, and choose the appropriate radio button from the Choose what to keep window.
■Once done, wait until Windows 8 is upgraded to Windows 10.
■After upgrading to Windows 10, make the required changes to personalize the operating system as per your preferences before you start using it normally.
