Hybrid map modes are a mix of the assault game mode and the escort game mode, so they're slightly more complicated than any other match type.
Step 1)Assault the objective to take control of the payload.
The first objective to capture is closer to your spawn point than the enemies, this makes it easier to take, but you have a limited amount of time to do so. Just remember, once you've killed someone on their team it is going to take them a bit to run back to the point. If you can get a good team push and wipe against the enemy, you will almost certainly take the objective before they can get back. Once you cap the objective you will get access to the payload and be able to start moving it.
Step 2)Keep as many people on the payload as possible.
This mechanic isn't something I noticed until I had played this kind of game a couple of times, it isn't very intuitively displayed. The more people you have on the objective when there are no enemies around, the faster it will move towards your destination. If it is currently moving and not contested, get on it and get it there quicker.
Step 3)Prevent the enemy team from taking control of the payload.
Just like you can move the payload towards it's destination, the enemy team can take control of it and will start moving it back towards the start of the map if they fully control it and no one on your team is near enough to contest the movement. Stay on that objective or you could lose any progress your team has made.
For the first part of the mission you'll want an aggressive team with maybe just one tank to hold that objective, while the rest of the team mops them up so you can keep it. You just need to cap that objective and then you can really get this game rolling. That's the point where you are probably going to want to have someone switch in another tank to stay on that objective, a Reinhardt is great for this with his barrier. Always remember your hero choices are not set in stone, adapt for your situation!
