Some Windows users need all the protection they can get, but the majority of Tom’s Hardware readers know a little more about their computers. That means User Account Control features can come across as a little overzealous. If you see "This App Has Been Blocked For Your Protection" on your Windows 10 PC, here is what you need to do.

User Account Control is better than it has ever been and I would never suggest turning it off completely. However, you can always do it temporarily to allow a particular app to load.
Remember though, there may be a good reason Windows is warning you about a particular app. Make sure it has been downloaded from a trusted source before circumventing the processes designed to protect you.
1. Navigate to Control Panel, System and Security and Security and Maintenance.
2. Click ‘Change Windows SmartScreen settings in the left pane.
3. Select ‘Turn off Windows SmartScreen’.
I would suggest turning it back on once your app has been loaded.
You can also run the app or program as an administrator to get it working.
1. Navigate to the executable of the app you want to run.
2. Right click and select Properties.
3. Select the Compatibility tab and check ‘Run this program as an administrator’. As long as you had admin access on your computer, the app should load without the warning.
