Where Do I Download Turbo C or Turbo C++ For Windows 8?

Turbo C and Turbo C++ are the programming languages that are still used to develop various applications. These languages are also used in educational institutions to train the students about programming skills, and to polish their expertise so that they can exploit the robust features of these languages in production environments.

Earlier versions of Turbo C and Turbo C++ were fully compatible with Windows 98, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. However the mentioned programming languages are not able to cope up with Windows Vista and all other recent Windows operating systems, even if they are installed on the DOSBox. Considering this, the new version of Turbo C++ has been released which is Turbo C++ 3.0.

Turbo C++ 3.0 is now fully compatible with Windows 7 and Windows 8, and does not have the issues when installed on these Windows operating systems. Some important issues that are resolved in this version of Turbo C++ include:

How to Download and Install Turbo C++ 3.0?

In order to download and install Turbo C++ 3.0 on a 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 8 computer, step-by-step instructions are given below:

    ■Log on to Windows 8 computer with the administrator account.
    ■Click Desktop tile from the Start screen to go to the desktop window.
    ■On the desktop screen, click Internet Explorer icon from the taskbar.
    ■On the Internet Explorer window, copy and paste
    link in the address bar to download DOSBox 0.74.
    ■On the Internet Explorer window, copy and paste
    in the address bar to download Turbo C++ 3.0.
    ■Once downloaded, locate the destination location where DOSBox and Turbo C++ 3.0 installation files are stored.
    ■Double-click the located DOSBox installation file to install the emulator.
    ■Extract the downloaded zipped file of Turbo C++ using any file extractor.
    ■Copy the TC folder that resides in the extracted folder.
    ■Create a folder in C: drive named ‘TurboC++’.
    ■Paste TC folder in the newly created ‘TurboC++’ folder.
    ■Initiate the earlier installed DOSBox emulator.
    ■On the opened DOSBox interface, type MOUNT D C:\TURBOC++ command and press Enter. (C: is the drive letter of the destination hard disk drive location where Turbo C++ folder is stored, and D is the virtual directory.)
    ■Once done, type D:\ and press Enter.

    ■Then, type the following command one by one: type CD TC and press Enter, type CD BIN and press Enter, type TC and press Enter to install Turbo C++ 3.0.

    ■On the displayed Turbo C++ interface go to Options menu.
    ■From the displayed options, click Directories.
    ■On the Directories box, in the Source Directories field, type D:\TC\INCLUDE where D is virtual directory which is mapped to C:\TurboC++\ folder.

    ■Click OK to save the changes.
    ■Close Turbo C++ window when done.
    ■On DOSBox windows type EXIT command to close the emulator.
