I mean i don't care if the data is completely lost as the drive was an OS drive with couple of games and apps and not important documents.

My crucial mx500 that i bought in 2020 just randomly stopped working. I had the os on it so the os suddenly froze and pc restarted and i got the message of no boot device found.
So i changed the sata cable, sata power cable, used the ssd in a usb enclosure, put in a different pc and nothing...
tried the minitool partition wizard and failed. but i found this tool provided by PNY for pny and HP USB drives that worked and i managed to format the drive.
Apparently it need a low-level format but the new app they are providing isnt working but i managed to find an older version that worked...
Removed this hp usb stick from the pc without safely removing it and now its stuck on read-only.
I am sure its something at the hardware level because i have literally tried everything software wise to fix it. Can't delete files or format it.

i honestly dont know if its new. i just never listened to the sound until yesterday and i have a seagate one next to it that makes some sounds too but not as much as the WD.

i did install a realtek driver from the motherboard support page but the issue persisted.
edit: when i try to uninstall the audio drivers from the computer management panel, the drivers just reinstall themselves.
