    Water Cooled Systems.. Much Cop?

    >> Water cooled systems. Any good? Yup. >> Are they really that quiet? Depends. Mine is. >> Do they really provide that much extra cooling. Yup! > do they look as cool as they appear? Cool as Corvette, or cool as robots playing soccer? Former, no, latter, yes. They've got "engineering...

    Water cooling and safety

I would imagine anyone contemplating putting together a water cooling system probably has rather an extensive experience in building PC's. I know I have. If you put the components together yourself, there's of course no guarantee that your system will adhere to all the rules and regulations...

    weird water problem

Just a wild guess, but maybe one of the components had some sort of protective agent inside it, and it has now flushed off. You could try and change the water, see if it's the "milkifyed" water that makes your CPU run cooler. Might want to spare the "milkifyed" water, though... EARTH.INI...

    Finish Him - Thermality!

Where's the PSU located? I had the same PSU in a minitower, where it hanged right above HSF, and Enermax's intake fan robs some of the air that's supposed to go to HSF. If you don't mind messing with the PSU, open it up, and disconnect the intake fan (it's connected with a plug, you don't need...

Athlon XP 1800+ ASUS A7V333 crashing, Temperature?

Glad I could help. I've been wondering that brand-thingy myself. We use IBM desktops in our office, and at least in those systems they've set up a kind of tubing to lead the cool air onto HSF. Also, Intel's 13-micron CPUs run a bit cooler than 18-micron Athlons. I saw you already got a reply...

    Are more fans always better?

Well, yes... The biggest noisemakers are usually HSF, and possibly PSU (depends on quality). So, additional case fans might not really be "heard" - and that's of course the thing that matters, noisewise. But, since P4user's thinking if he should put in fans just because there's room, he should...

    Are more fans always better?

    Don't forget that fans=noise. EARTH.INI corrupted, cannot find GOD.SYS. Reboot universe? (Yes/No/Ignore)

Athlon XP 1800+ ASUS A7V333 crashing, Temperature?

    1. 24-26C, and the mother board temperature is always 35-36C * Ok, at least this is ok. 2. is PSU for Power Supply Unit? it's quite hot after i put Athlon XP in, but before, it was ok. * I had similar problem. I had an 650MHz Athlon on 250W generic PSU, and it was ok. When I swapped to Athlon...

Got my watercooler setup. What a difference.

External, you say... I'd like to see some pictures, I've just finished setting one up myself. Web pages will follow in a few weeks. (with Homer Simpson's voice) "Mmmmm... watercooling..." (starts drooling) EARTH.INI corrupted, cannot find GOD.SYS. Reboot universe? (Yes/No/Ignore)

Athlon XP 1800+ ASUS A7V333 crashing, Temperature?

    1. What's the ambient temperature in the room, and inside the case? 2. How hot is you PSU? Generic under-powered ones tend to run hot. 3. Has there been any change in positioning of PC, or have you added components (like another CD-drive)? Cables are neatly tucked away, right? And: since you...

    Watercooling and noise

I just put up a watercooling solution, one reason being the noise. A LOT less noisy, but not noiseless. If you want a really low-noise system, you'd have to watercool graphics card and possibly disks, too. That way you could get rid (almost) all of the fans, possibly only needing the...

Air Duct From CPU heatsink to case back?

Hey, thanks for the tips, CALV! Can't make that underground tank, though; I live in an apartment. One of my concerns has been thermostatic control: at what point should I increase fan speeds. If I set it too low, they're always on at full (=noise), and if they're too low, CPU gets hot. I think...

Air Duct From CPU heatsink to case back?

I did something close to this; an exhaust fan on top of the case, just some ten centimeters from processor. I didn't put in any ducts. Before the exhaust fan the temps were CPU 60+ C and case 45+ C (idle). With the exhaust fan temps dropped almost twenty degrees on CPU and about fifteen in the...

    CPU temp 80+ C =/

It is the grease, it makes the heat transfer from CPU to HSF much better, the dramatic drop in the temperature shows you why it is a *must*. You're really lucky you didn't burn that CPU of yours! Otherwise, I have same problem as you, idle temps about 55 degrees centigrade, case 35 degrees...

    Mouse still on

About the temperatures: they are a bit high. I had same problem (but even higher temperatures). Solution: I cut a hole for a 12cm exhaust fan on the top of case. Temperatures came down some twenty degrees. Luckily, a buddy of mine has access to a decent metal shop, so it's not an ugly solution...
