Depends on what metric, price to performance, they all perform similarly, overclockability, just look for the one with the most over engineered PCB . But when it comes to quietest and coolest, RobCrezz probably gave the best option.

You could get away with 4GB for Battlefield 1 @ 1440p, but ARK at 1440p will use more than 4GB. It completely depends if noise and higher temps bother you, I'd personally go for the XFX XXX RX 480 8GB, or see if you can get a second hand 8GB RX 480 with a custom cooler.

It's practically neck and neck between the RX 480 8GB and GTX 1060 6GB right now so I'd just go for the cheaper option. You would need to uninstall/delete all NVidia drivers, apps and folders if you went over to AMD, you can use Display Driver Uninstaller to get rid of most of it.

It will be compatible, You might have to update the BIOS though.

400w is enough and neither of those cards need external power, just that PSU is pretty much an unknown.

For the sake of ~£8, I would go for the MSI. There's a 51MHz base clock difference which isn't going to do much and they're both going to boost to about the same (assuming identical silicon), but MSI is just the better brand.
