    Your setup does support the card, and it will not be bottlenecked by the CPU.

    Yes, it will work if it is the same size. Most HDDs in laptops are 2.5 inch drives, but 2 tb 7200 RPM 2.5 inch drives are not very common, but you might be able to find one. Otherwise you can get a slightly slower 2 TB 5400 RPM 2.5 inch drive instead.

    This depends on what games you play and what resolution you play at. The 980 Ti is a lot stronger than the 980, and I think that it is worth the upgrade.

    You can use the drive as both a boot drive and a game drive. If your game library is so big that it doesn't fit on the drive you can put the games (and other software) you use most on the SSD.
