Overclocking the Voltage ATI Radeon HD 5450

Why are you posting to a thread that's over a year old?

    Possible broken connection on m'board

Or you could just take the hard drive out and connect it internally or buy a new enclosure. Also, this thread has been dead for about 9 months, so you probably shouldn't post on it.

Can you catch malware from slave hdd's?

So as long as I'm just storing the data and not running it, I should be ok? EDIT: My preferred antivirus is good judgement, then I use malwarebytes ONLY when I think I have a problem.

Can you catch malware from slave hdd's?

I do a bit of repair work on the side, and I find myself cleaning up/fixing laptops. If I plug a laptop hdd into a spare port and back up the user data, is there any way malware from the laptop drive can effect my system? My gut says no. I think that anything on there would need that hdd's OS...

Monitor's power brick makes a weird noise.

Thanks for the reply, and that makes perfect sense. If I wanted to do 10+ hours of reading and soldering, sure. I COULD do it, but my soldering skills aren't great and I'm not gonna cry over a few bucks. In the mean time, if I ignore the noise, is it a fire hazard or could it take out the...

Monitor's power brick makes a weird noise.

I bought a $5 replacement power supply for a used monitor from amazon. It's the correct model, and it works, but it makes a very high pitch squealing noise. When I put it up to my ear, it sounds like radio static. Is this the sound of something inside arching? Am I running the risk of...

What's the diffrence between a red and green motherboard ?

Only if you're vain. That's just what color they decided to make it.

Acer desktop windows 7, motherboard screwed!

First, I'm a bit confused. Isn't the 1800 a laptop? Check eBay and see if someone has just the mobo used. You may find a good deal. If it is a laptop, you'll need the exact board (or one NEARLY identical). Also, changing out the board on a laptop isn't exactly easy, and I wouldn't attempt...

    Inspiron 560 motherboard change out.

The boards would have to be pretty close for it to work without any snags. With a retail copy of windows you get more flexibility. The further you move away (different chipsets etc) the more likely that it won't work. This isn't really my specialty. While I'm here, I'd like to warn you that...

Which Board should i get ?

I have most of a 1997 mac clone (yes, they existed for a few months). If it was whole and worked, it'd be worth a decent chunk of change. Unfortunately, it would cost far more than I want to invest to find out if it even works.

Which Board should i get ?

Hey, 1995 called. They want their post back. Seriously, though. Why are you trying to build a computer with 20 year old parts? If you just want to play those games, there are easier ways to do it. For example, emulation.

    amd fx6100 mobo PROBLEMS?

Your board is pretty lame... OC'ing the CPU won't help gaming performance much. Try OC'ing the video card instead. I don't know any of the top of my head, but there are some pretty easy to use OC utilities for graphics cards out there. Your board isn't the worst, but it's up there (or down...
