How to better achieve stable 144Hz during gaming...

So I have been running a BenQ XL2720Z for almost a year. I really like the monitor and want to start getting more out of it. I have no problem in easier games like LoL and Heroes of the Storm in reaching 144fps. But more demanding games dont get much over 70fps. My question is: would I see...

    Gaming PC rig

Ummm... something is wrong here. How do you have an i5-4460 (which has a LGA 1150 socket) coupled into a motherboard that uses a LGA 1155 socket.

PC possibly overheating need help fixing the issue.

The other thing it could be is that your GPU is dead/near-death. Remove it and plug your monitor into the I/O panel would be the easiest way to check that. Duality(dude above my post) gave you sound advice as well. Good luck.

Should I wait for a new GPU ??

You shouldnt sit on new hardware. If any of the new parts are DOA, you will have to make a warranty claim instead of just a return/replace after 30/90 days.

Upgrade, replace or add an SSD

You dont want to fill an SSD past ~90%, it slows it down real bad too. Clean it out a little bit, especially temp files. Unless your new SSD is significantly faster Id keep the one you have as your boot drive and the second for games/programs only.

    Need help to find bottleneck

That motherboard has 2 of the older SATA2 plugs, they are 2 isolated plugs above the other 4. Make sure you didnt plug your SSD into those. The main things holding you back with that set up is that your mobo only goes to PCIe 2.0, so your GPU isnt fully being used. If you do have a bottleneck...

    Asus Strix 970 tempeture

I agree, those temps are normal for air cooling. I have a Gigabyte 770, and when I first got it the temps were higher for the first couple times I gamed really hard on it. A couple days later, once the TIM got to cure, it dropped several (5+) degrees on average from then on.

    Looking for a new Case

If you are looking for something portable, I think you will have trouble finding cases for a full ATX motherboard. You should consider switching to a mATX or even a mini-ITX motherboard. With the mini-ITX, you will have a lot of options.

    whats wrong with my computer

If you reinstall windows, it will either add a second copy of windows onto your hard drive or it would want you to reformat the drive (which would make you lose all of your data). Personally, I would buy a SSD and make that your new boot drive. Load windows on the new SSD, and once you have...

Now a days games showing requirements too high than really required to play?

Using Far Cry 4 as an example, you are looking at the recommending specifications. Those are the specs to have a smooth experience (~60Hz) with most of the bells and whistles on. ie AA, godrays, v-sync, animal fur (yes they have a video setting to increase the detail on the fur of the animals...

WD RED or WD BLACK for video editing in RAID 0?

WD red's are specifically designed for servers and the purples are designed for surveillance recording. WD blues and blacks are for normal PC uses, where black is the enthusiast/high quality one. The greens are environmentally friendly... whatever that means, lol.

how to remove this hp mother board from casing..

It looks to me like you missed the middle screw. The one under the graphics card. Motherboard screw patterns are pretty standardized. It looks like a mATX board, so there should be 3 on the top row, and 2 or 3 on the middle row, and then 2 on the bottom row.

30 cm gpu in zalman z11

I have a Zalman Z-11 (not the plus model) case. My GTX 770 which is 11.4 inches (about 289.6 mm) barelly fits in there. And I mean BARELLY!!! My cables for my BR drive are smashed against the HDD cage to get through. I would recommend to you, that NO, it will not fit.

    Sell PC for PS4?

If I were you, I would pull the SSD to keep. I would also pull that power supply and replace it with a cheaper one. Both of those parts you would want for a future build. After doing that, I think the guy selling you the PS4 is still getting the better deal but no by much.

Watch dogs running at 45FPS max!!

You should check out TotalBiscuit's review of Watch Dogs on PC: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBb2BIVrV7M He talks about it on the video: he is running 2 x Titan blacks, and it still doesnt run even close to as well as one might expect. I dont want to say it was a poorly done port because...
