Question PC powers on every single day at same time. When I wake it up (after hours), bsod driver_power_state_failure

As said above, it could be a BIOS/UEFI setting. Many computers have the option to turn on by Real-Time Clock, where once the motherboards clock reaches a certain time, everyday, it will turn itself on. Information about this can be found on P65 of your motherboard manual E7B05v1.2.pdf (msi.com)

    Question Multiple (or not) problem/s

System resources are all OK. i5 4690 currently at about 5%. RAM at 5GB out of 16GB, that's with Edge and background programs like Steam. SSD and HDD are both at 0% with occassional peaks (obviously get higher if I open another program) Intel graphics are at <5%. Everything there seems normal...

Question Strange USB power surge problem

I'm presuming you are on a desktop, not laptop, so:- -What PSU do you have (make, model, wattage), and for roughly how long have you been using it? -What GPU are you using? How often does the GPU timeout occur? If its frequent, then you could see about updating your drivers to the newest...

    Question Multiple (or not) problem/s

Thanks for the reply. I will have a look at Reliability History tomorrow as its getting late tonight, I will update with what i find tomorrow. The SSD is the boot drive - while it is very small, I have really only got the Windows install and a few programs on it, still got over 30% free space...

[SOLVED] Buzzing sound ( headphones ) whenever I move my mouse or do anything really ?

Static through headphones is usually caused by poor isolation somewhere in the system, or outside of it. Is your PC connected to a socket via a 2 pin connector or 3 pin connector? What is the model PSU that you have, and how long has it been used for? Lastly, if you happen to haven any...

    Question Multiple (or not) problem/s

Hello, I'm having some problems with my PC, and thought i would have fixed it with a new PSU but that seems not to have been the case. The initial issues had noticed were that the PC hangs on restarting, didn't have power to the USBs whilst shutdown and sleeping, and occasionally crashes at...

[SOLVED] Is System specific RAM actually system specific?

Thanks, I expected as much... I reckon they usually charge an overprice since they have "tested and confirmed 100% compatibility" for specific OEM systems or something like that; right now I have an opportunity to buy some quite cheaply. As for the unsafe warning - not sure what that is...

[SOLVED] Is System specific RAM actually system specific?

Hello, I'm looking at some 'system specific' RAM, manufactured by a company called Hypertec. According to their website, they make their RAM to be 100% compatible with OEM systems, such as timing, ranking and signal integrity. I know that Kingston also has a similar product range. However, I'm...

    [SOLVED] New build

It is very dependent on your budget, but something like this would make a good starting point. PCPartPicker Part List CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor (£168.30 @ Aria PC) Motherboard: MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard (£94.95 @ AWD-IT) Memory: Team T-FORCE VULCAN Z 16...

    [SOLVED] Pc wont turn on

I'd recommend trying to boot it with only one stick of RAM. Try this with both as it might be that one is faulty. You could also try to see what happens when you try to boot without the graphics card - do any errors or lights occur on the motherboar? It would also be worth checking to make sure...

[SOLVED] What should my next upgrades be?

The processor will bottleneck a the GPUs. However, seeming as you have no dedicated GPU, a CPU upgrade will make your PC useless. You should add the GPU first, then upgrade the CPU to a similar standard afterward. Something like a Ryzen 5 3600 would be a good CPU choice.

    [SOLVED] GPU OR CPU

I also think the i5 9600 is the best choice. For games like GTA V, upgrading to the 9400 will not offer much of an upgrade in performance. Meanwhile, a current i7 is probably so far the other way that the GPU actually becomes a limiter. A 9600k will be both good now, and also be good in a future...

    [SOLVED] My PC doesn't restart

Sounds like a possible problem regarding the RAM. According to the website, the motherboard does support 3200 (OC). How do you get it to 3200MHz? If manually, I'd recommend instead doing it automatically. You should be able to use XMP to set it to its default max speed of 3200MHz. In the BIOS...

Question Which VGA cable should I be connecting?

It shouldn't matter which VGA is used. I'm not sure what the other motherboard connection is for, but the SATA/Molex connectors are for DVD drives, HDDs, SSDs etc. Molex is the old type of connection for these, made of a chunky, typically semi-clear white connector with 4 pins. SATA is the one...

Question Is this PSU ANY good?

The S12ii and M12ii are now fairly old PSUs. However, over the time they have been around, they proved themselves to be very reliable - the S12ii especially so. However, at around €80, there are perhaps some better choices. In France, for example, this Corsair TXM is just about on your budget...
