Hey guys, I need to pick a Mobo. Had a gigabyte GAZ170-SLI but it had problems. Returning and looking to other options. I need advice on what to get. I think I want an Asus Mobo but others are fine. $200 is my limit unless I can get a significant boost in performance for a few bucks more...

Narrowed it down to a bios issue. Cleaned and replaced CPU and cooler. No luck. Cleared bios and restarted all good just slow boot. Returning Mobo and going to a different one.

Isn't it strange that it still boots though?

I appreciate the outlook, thinking I will get the 6700. I am looking to do some audio recording and mixing this winter with it so the i7 should help me there. Just wasn't sure that cheap Mobo would be good enough for what I need. I tend to over research and be skeptical about PC parts for sure.

So your saying the better option here is the 6700 with factory cooler and a cheaper Mobo than to do the 6600k with aftermarket cooler and more expensive Mobo?

What about a CPU cooler? And is a 6700 gonna be better than a 6600k?
