i would like to add that after the update i had to uninstall my gpu driver and reinstall the driver meant for windows 8.1.

because i have the r9 290 and noticed that it sucks more power than most people claim so your psu might be too small

also, make sure your bluetooth is turned on. if i'm not mistaken there is a switch on your laptop keyboard to turn it on and off(should shine blue when on, orange when off)

go to control panel-network and internet-network and sharing center-change adapter settings-disable everything except the adapter you wish to use

I have done a lot of mods to many different computers and can answer questions from hardware and software.

Windows updated from 8 to 8.1 without any errors.

I'm just going to take it one step at a time. Also, I won't be updating to tindows 8.1 for another 4 hours.

i bought an hp desktop which has now been altered with a new psu, gsu, and case. I was wondering if windows would run into any errors updating to windows 8.1 from windows 8 considering the original copy of windows 8 was installed by hp on the original, unaltered hp.
