Thanks for both of your replies, I have taken your comments on board. You're right, I'm overthinking it there's not enough performance changes at the price range for the little bits to matter so long as there is enough to run the tech (ram size and ssd storage size).

I've come across another consideration now aswell, is it worth sacrificing CPU power for PCIE 4 NVME ? I can upgrade the RAM to 8gb in both previously mentioned laptops so that shouldnt be an issue now and research has shown the difference between DDR5 and 4 is quite negligible for browsing etc...

In fact I just did a bit more research and I can use an adapter to make the 6 pin into an 8 pin, connector and according to pc part picker I have 162 watts left until it maxes out my PSU, does that open up any possibilities ?

Having a look on eBay and the card that just died a gtx 960 2gb is almost half the price of the 1050ti and they’re on par for performance so do you think it’s worth just rebuying the 960 2gb instead or is there another 6 pin connector gpu out there that beats the 960 ?

Something else to consider is there’s only one singular 6 pin gpu cable on the psu so if the new gpu requires anymore I’d need a new psu anyway because it’s a modular psu currently unless there’s any workarounds to that ?
