Think i figured out why my computer wasn't entering sleep. decided to double-check the power settings and it got changed to never sleep... Idk how it got changed to that because i remember recently setting it to sleep after 1 hour. Does anyone have an idea on why windows would change that...

As a bandaid, I have a batch file on the desktop that I execute to force my computer to sleep when I am done with it for the day but if something draws me from my computer for several hours ide like for it to enter sleep on it own without me telling it to sleep lol.

did some searching on Newegg and think I have come up with this combo, Motherboard, and CPU. My only conern with the MB is will it allow me to keep using my internal capture card? Since that CPU is on backorder i may go with the cheaper i5 option or the cheaper i7 option.

Update, I took it to a local shop that does free diagnostic and they have come to the conclusion that I was theorizing of the MB has failed. We can mark this post as solved :)

Never heard of a CMOS battery causing issues that makes a computer restart. Far as I'm aware all the battery is for to preserve bios settings and the date-time on the MB.

Thinking it's a hardware issue. Replicated the issue while leaving the computer in BIOS so ruled out an issue with windows.

He also put a GPU in after I built it. As when I built it he didn't have the funds for a GPU. His GPU is a 8GB XFX Radeon RX 580

I have ran a chkdsk on it as well and it reports no issues found
