Nah I didn't alter any settings. My psu is still under warranty, as a last ditch I could return and put the refund towards a 1000w unit. Would high transients show up on hwinfo, during stress tests the highest it would report was drawing ~300w

I've had no issues with shutoffs, and I've known others using 6950XT without issues using psus with less wattage, not really convinced it's an issue. I've used both drives with the 6950XT for months.

Thanks for the reply. I realized that my fan is actually a 3 pin connector and my motherboard is a 4 pin. Didnt really think about it when connecting it. And thanks for the information on the PSU as well, looking into replacing it ASAP.

You shouldn't need to uninstall the speakers but set the Arctis headset as the priority in the sound settings. Not sure if you have solved the problem or not, but you should be able to find this in the sound settings by right-clicking on the speaker icon in your tray.

I can suggest that you look into the 1070 or a 2060 as they are good midrange cards that won't leave your wallet hurting too much. My friend uses an i5 6600k and the 1070 and runs Borderlands 3 on High settings at 60-70 FPS. If you are just looking to run Apex better, a budget-friendly solution...

tested it on a few games, and it seems my FPS is higher, not sure if it's just with the Heaven benchmark that favors more cores? not sure but my FPS in games does not seem to be affected.

Was running FX 8350 I'm thinking that the difference in cores is what gave me a higher score in Heaven benchmark? Not sure otherwise why I would get a lower performance, as far as games goes I haven't done any testing, only Cinebench and Heaven tools.
