Yeah when you say it like that, dropping $300 for a small increase performance does seem like a bad choice. The GPU upgrade makes all my games ultra at 1440p on ultra with no effort. Only Cyberpunk dips at around 70fps, everything else is 100+ fps.

So for what I'm doing right now, I should just sit with what I have. I would expect to see the 3700x or 3800x on a Black Friday sale at Microcenter next year, especially with all the new 5000 series cpu's coming out. Picked up the 2700x for $135 at MicroCenter at a Black Friday sale.

I did go with the budget option, the deciding factor was inland is a TLC vs the Intel 660p QLC. In ssd's lower is better.
