Ryzen 7 2700x
RTX 3070 Founders Edition
Asus B350-F gaming motherboard
32GB 2x16 Corsair LPX Vengeance 3000
750 Corsair PSU

Looking for an upgrade to CPU. Looking at Ryzen 7 3700x and the 3800x for $300 and $350. Also, a seller on Facebook Marketplace has an Ryzen 5 5600x for $350. So if I went with R5 5600x, can I use 350f or will I need to upgrade that? The 3700x and 3800x it would seem I can use my current motherboard.

Solution
Nope,your motherboard doesnt support 5000 series cpu's.
2700X should be more than enough for gaming use,so i say save a couple of bucks (by couple i mean $500+ ) and when you do,come back here to discuss further upgrades.
Buy a ssd or something if you dont have it yet. XD

The 3070 FE gave me a huge boost as it is. Sold off a EVGA 2070 xc ultra which actually covers the cost. I do have a 1TB NVME M.2 on the B350 as well as a 1TB HDD and a 4TB external HDD. Thanks. Might just stick it out and wait for the 3700 or 3800x to go on sale. Picked up 2700x for 135 at Microcenter on a Black Friday.

I suggested waiting until you have 500$+ for 5600X which even outperforms 3900X in gaming. But 3700X is a good idea also.Dont get the 3800x,it has the same performance as the 3700X for more money, and dont buy XT versions of ryzen cpu's unless they are really close ti the price of a cpu without those suffixes

If you can wait, AM5 should be popping up within a year. AM4 is at end of life, my plan is to start fresh on AM5 unless I can find a smoking deal on a 3600x.

Currently 1600x b350. Can't see spending the $ on a socket that's going to retire soon.
