[SOLVED] Starting fresh with DDR4 RAM

Edit: looking at my profile pic not cyroburner's. I got a dual Xeon for the pci-e lane capacity. So, the new motherboard will probably be changed for a higher capacity chip set for further expansion. I also invested in a big case on my last upgrade with ample space for radiators if things had...

Upgrading to DDR4 RAM makes a new motherboard necessary, want to go to 64 GB, a board mounted 1 TB boot drive, a graphics card that'll...

    Upgraded Adobe Premier/RED editing machine

Been thinking about where you are and where you need to go from your current bottlenecked build. A short midstep would indeed be to add another 16GB of RAM and change out your GPU for a 1070/1080 or just add a 1060/16GB's and move the machine down the pecking order with a pretty good boost and...

I touched the thermal paste heatsink

Depends on what you mean by rubbed. If you have paste I'd take the whole thing down to clean and put a new pea sized drop on in the middle where you need the best contact. Most pastes are of the same quality but I always rub off the pre-applied stuff out of principle.

    Help with Gaming/Video Editing rig

It looks like a premium build. Well researched right in the spectrum for the price. Indeed a bit of overkill until you add in some video or rendering or photography and all day use in general then it will be walking for the next couple of years even supporting VR.
