PSU Exploded badly

Hello, recently my PSU Exploded due to a power surge, but the strange thing was that the PC wad connected to a power surge protector, I was just wondering if there is any way to test if any of my pc components are fried, and If I can, that would be lovely. Thanks.

Yeah... a surge protector generally does nothing for sensitive equipment. Make sure to read the fine print on the little paper that comes with them. If you want surge protection for a PC, you need a good UPS.

How do you know you had a power surge? Most surge protectors are a joke.

Also can a psu explode any way but badly? Put a new psu in and hope it just fried the psu not the whole rig... are you certain it was a surge?

Make sure you get a good surge protector thats certified and has lots of joules, and probably try getting a ups instead, and turn on anti-surge in the bios to make sure your motherboard and all your components dont fry from a surge

Surge protectors dont really protect sensitive equipment like power supplies, but maybe a ups will, who knows

Tripp Lite TLP1008TEL Surge Protector 120V 10 Outlet RJ11 8-Feet Cord 2395 Joule - of course YMMV.
