It's bull. I'm going for a nice Gigabyte motherboard. My old LGA775 mobo has been thrown around so many times and works flawlessly. I thought ASUS was about equal quality than Gigabyte.

Wow thank you so much, i totally forgot about the FX series. I've settled on a ASUS M3A79-T Deluxe. It has 4 PCIe slots and supports all of my old components. AND it's rated 5 stars on newegg!

Kind of hard to read what you are saying. But yeah, It's probably the motherboard. If it cracked and smoked then it's most likely dead. Don't connect your components to it unless you want them to die.
