I saw this 'Amd fx 6100 6 core processor @3.9 ghz' and i was unsure about whether it was 6 different cores at 3.9ghz each or 6 different cores adding up to 3.9ghz. Could anyone tell me which one it is please?

I just recently got a Geforce 6800 agp 512mb gpu and whenever i put it into my pc and start it up i just get a beeping noise and the caps lock key flashes. How can i resolve this problem? Do i need a different graphics card? If so which is best for my system...
