You don't want that CPU. The FX-6300 would be a much better choice. The FX-6100 is a "Bulldozer" chip, found to be a general disappointment; the FX-6300 is a "Piledriver," and offers significant improvement. Both of these CPUs have three "modules," each consisting of a pair of integer cores and a single floating point unit. Windows sees it as six cores, although resources are shared. On a budget, it isn't a bad chip, but if it's in your budget, an Intel i5 (Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge, or Haswell) is a better performer.
