    Quad core 2.5GHz = 10GHz processor?

Or as someone else put it: If a car can travel at 100mph and has 4 wheels, the car must be capable of travelling at 400mph! It makes perfect sense. I can see no flaws whatsoever in the statement! :D

    Quad core 2.5GHz = 10GHz processor?

This kind of advertising has been deemed as Misleading and not Truthful in the UK. Still happens though :fou: http://www.asa.org.uk/Complaints-and-ASA-action/Adjudications/2009/9/Valatech-Ltd/TF_ADJ_46990.aspx

Screen flicker is driving me nuts

Mine's fixed now. It was being caused by memory clock frequency changes in the primary display adaptor. I used the Radeon BIOS Editor to set the memory clock at a fixed frequency - no more flicker!

Is my ram limiting my OC on a q6600?

ahnirv, just a thought, but my system was limited by RAM as that was capping my FSB speed. I was operating 800MHz RAM which wouldn't OC much over 850MHz, hence capping the FSB to 1700MHz. As soon as i put in 1066MHz RAM I was able to run 2000MHz FSB with no issues, along with the processor at...

    HSF Upgrade

AKM880 - thanks for the response. I was looking around last night at the Thermalrght Ultra 120 Black. It seems to get good reviews and has been recommended on a lot of other forums. How does this compare to the MugenII or S1283?

    DRAM Frequency Auto Adjusts

You haven't said what motherboard it is, but the layout looks very Asus like. As you've probably already figured out, the FSB to NB strap is what controls what RAM frequencies are available. Whenever you increase the FSB frequency you will need to select a strap to bring your RAM inside it's...

    Max RAM Limitations

Hi again folks, I've got a question on max RAM limitations for my mobo and am really hoping someone can help! I'm looking at upgrading my RAM and was intending to put 8GB DDR2-1066MHz in, however, looking at the QVL for my mobo (Asus Rampage Formula, link to QVL below) it seems that Asus say...

    HSF Upgrade

Temps at the moment are ok (mid 50's case temp), but any push higher on the overclock quickly increases the voltages required and temperatures along with it. I've had the CPU running at 3.6GHz temporarily but case temps are around 75°C and increasing. Hence the need for a new, better HSF!

    HSF Upgrade

I've just posted this thread but it seems to have disappeared, so apologies if it turns up twice!! Anyway, i'm looking to upgrade my Arctic Freezer Pro to a better perfroming HSF. Budget is in the £50 - £60 range but not fixed. It needs to go on my OC'd Q6600, currently @ 3.4GHz but will be...

Arctic Freezer 7 Pro vs Blue Orb FX & Lapping. Me confused!

For an idle temp at stock speed it does sound a little warm although load temps are the important bt. Download and install Realtemp and monitor temps while running Prime95. Don't allow the case temp (Tcase) to exceed 70°C or the core temps (Tjunc) to exceed 90°C for any core. That does give a...

    BIOS Questions

hi, sorry for the late response. been a tad busy for the last couple of days. It's worth checking your RAM voltages. I think the memory you have is 2.0v - 2.1v. That would certainly cause an error...

    BIOS Questions

Indeed, raise NB & FSB VTT when you get a crash during Prime95 or boot failure. Raise one at a time or not? It's up to you. My method involves raisng both til the ceiling is found, then dropping back whichever is most over it's design limit until a fail occurs. The other can then be reduced...
