Just to clear something up, the pc NEVER shuts down or reboots by itself.

Correct the stock cooler uses the same push pins and is actually heavier than the Pro. The pins have been checked several times as best as it can be done without removing the mb. I suspect the board is flexing and a contact may be at fault. But I may just live with it for now if it does not...

I just built my first new system. It is based on GA-965P-DS3 board and e6600 CPU. Is there software to monitor the temps and other info? I know I can go into the bios but am looking for monitoring software.

I am considering a similar build. Is there any reason noone has suggested a Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 board?
