Good pingtest and speedtest scores, but high ping in multiplayer games

Using my Xfinity internet I get 10mbps download, 40 ping, 5mbps upload on speedtest.net and no jitter or ping problems on pingtest.net, but when I play multiplayer games like Overwatch or CSGO my ping will sometimes spike from 50 to upwards of 1000 for long periods of time. I thought this might...

Laptop doesn't have Windows 10 drivers?

I want to do a clean install on my 4 year old Acer Aspire V3-571g-6602, but acer does not have windows 10 drivers out for it. Latest drivers are windows 8.1. Can I still install windows 10 and use windows 8.1 drivers or should I not bother with windows 10 for it?

I have great pc specs, but I can't run my games on high!

yeah he has a laptop but that's not the problem. TF2 is not a graphically intensive game at all and he should be able to run it. I had a GPU that was much worse on my laptop and I could get 60fps easily in TF2. Are you sure you are not in power saver mode on your laptop and do you have your...

Can this laptop run Attila total war on high?

I think it should be able to. I ran Rome II on Medium, High settings with 30ish fps on my Laptop with a 630M gpu which is worse than the 840M.

Are There Any Changes I Should Make To My Gaming Pc Build?

I would go for a B-Stock GTX970 on sale or a R290. I've seen both those cards go on sale for very cheap and they are quite a bit more powerful than the 960.

    AIDA64 vs RealTemp Temperature accuracy

I've been using AIDA64 and RealTemp to monitor my CPU temps, but for whatever reason the temperature measurements are a bit different. The temperature difference is usually about 5 degrees celsius at any given time with AIDA usually reporting the lower CPU temp. Which one should I trust...

    Low FPS - 970 and 8320E

Theoretically if you're struggling to run Skyrim on Vanilla, Fallout 4 should be much harder to get a good frame rate with, but because of your experience with Shadow of Mordor, maybe it will work? I do think you have a hardware problem somewhere. Sorry I can't be of more help.

    Low FPS - 970 and 8320E

CPU temperature looks fine and I don't think 60 is bad for GPU temp either. If all your drivers are up to date, then maybe your GPU just isn't working properly. It's weird that you can get 60 fps in Shadow of Mordor and this bad fps in Skyrim and Oblivion.
