I think you should go with 1440p and a 1070

For competative gaming there's no difference more than the picture will be sharper with the 1440p, whatever graphicscard you put in doesn't matter for the type of games you play, both cards are overkill, but go with the 1080 to flex a bit ;)

As the title says, whenever I try to work with FL Studio, my sound just freezes for a sec and the comes back on with horrblie distortion and a bit slower than usual. This is a huge issue for me. Anyone know what to do?

I do make pretty heavy 3d rendering , programming and music production. My 4790k does simply not handle it enough.
