Sorry I know little about these things I believe the 970 EVO is an NVMe (M.2), which is connected in the M.2 slot. It's listed as PCIe 3.0 (interface, I believe) on Newegg, but I want to connect it to a M.2 slot which only support PCIe 2.0, would it work? (I know it will gut the speed)

Is it possible to connect an NVMe that is listed as PCIe 3.0 x4 (such as 970 EVO) on a PCIe 2.0 x4 slot? Do I need an adapter?
