So I have here a Lenovo Thinkpad x240, and the OS won't load. When I try and boot the device, it goes to a black screen after the Windows logo disappears. I can, however, load and use the device if I run it in safe mode.

Try taking the gpu out and testing onboard graphics. Also, is your gpu getting power? Is the fan spinning?

So I put together a mut build, I have new parts and then I have parts from my old build that I am using until I upgrade them. Anyway, I have 12GB RAM in it, but only 1.96gb usable. What can cause this? Should I try just reseating the RAM or try switching up the ports?
