Question Does any PC vendors still sell partial custom builds?

Actually you’re right, I did find some builds with nothing but generic no name brand memory. So I went back and bought a build from avadirect. I really like this site, nearly all their options were from decent brands. Also the prices were slightly cheaper too along with $80 bucks off from their...

Question Does any PC vendors still sell partial custom builds?

Yeah I’m well aware of this, I got burned by Alienware like 20 yrs ago. The sh!tty PS they installed fried my cpu/mb after only having a 2k rig for like 3 yrs. At that site, they do have detailed info about the PS, click the little “I” for info. They got some decent brands, Corsair, EVGA...

Question Does any PC vendors still sell partial custom builds?

Found another site here, https://www.avadirect.com/ I was wrong about the prices being to high, pretty much the same on that site as well. Also pricing out the parts lands on roughly the same price as well. Man it’s been several years since I last did this…. GOOD TIMES!

Question Does any PC vendors still sell partial custom builds?

Thanks for the link! Yeah last gaming pc I bought was back in 2014. Wow 8 yrs ago now, still getting great performance out of it. Though bought 2 graphics card upgrades since then though. I’m still gaming at 1080. Anyway, I might get a build from that link but price seems a little high. Will...

Question Does any PC vendors still sell partial custom builds?

I’ve bought a few dating back like 15 years ago. But none of the sites I looked into has this option anymore, they use to. Like ibuypower, cyberpowerpc, and several others. For example, already got a graphics card and OS, don’t need them. But no custom builder sites allow options to not buy...

Question RTX 2060 Super worth it?

Well I took the dive... just bought this bad boy here! Had to buy a displayport cable since only been using DVI that came with my ASUS VG248. One of my 770s is a Gigabyte and have had no trouble with it, performs well and not loud. I think I'll be happy with it.

Question RTX 2060 Super worth it?

Based on that link and other benchmark videos/articles the 2060 Super is fine for 1080p on high settings. Heck I consider it still playable right now with a mix of medium and high settings on my 770s. Doesn't bother me at all if its not a constant 60+FPS. As long as it stays above 40 im groovy.

Question RTX 2060 Super worth it?

This will probably be my final upgrade for my 2014 build. Currently running GTX 770s in SLI and been happy with it since 2015. Monitor is an ASUS 144Hz for 1080p gaming. I know the 2060 Super is a little overkill for 1080p gaming but I figure when I do get a new rig (probably 1-2 yrs out) it...

Question Maximus VII Hero M2 SSD Trouble

I think Win7 is still great, at least until support ends next year. MS knows this and has a paid option for extended support. These will leak out to the die hard hold outs as well, at least any critical ones. (heard not long ago of a 10 update gimping gaming performance?) So as the gaming...

Question Maximus VII Hero M2 SSD Trouble

Ok problem solved, I needed the driver for Win7 and found it here! MS doesn't host the hotfix/driver anymore and neither ASUS or ADATA have it. So it was a bit of a scavenger hunt to say the least.

Here's a pic of my device manager and two pics of my BIOS: Sent in a support ticket to ADATA, will see how it goes with them.

Question Maximus VII Hero M2 SSD Trouble

Yeah I was starting to lean towards needing a driver. But having trouble finding it, like you also noticed XPG has no drivers to download and MS no longer has it. Will start scouring for one and get in touch with ADATA.

Question Maximus VII Hero M2 SSD Trouble

Question Maximus VII Hero M2 SSD Trouble

Ok I got this M2 the other day- XPG SX8200 PCIe NVMe Gen3x4 M.2 2280 960GB Now I know I wont get the full speed of this since I have an older M2 slot but I don't care. Trying to use this drive as storage and not a boot/OS drive. But the drive isn't recognized in drive management, so obviously...
