News B660 Motherboards for Alder Lake Non-K Overclocking Tipped for July

Intel is clearly not happy and will address this loophole in future BIOS updates potentially or simply void the warranty of the products. I heard from someone referring der8auer that using external clock gen will only affect the CPU and RAM thus avoiding Pcie and USB issues while running high...

[SOLVED] Seasonic Focus Plus Gold rebranded as Antec Neo Eco Modular Gold?

I found a review for the aforementioned PSU, it seems that it uses some additional features when compared to Steampunk version and all Japanese heavy duty caps. The review is not in-depth and I'm doubtful that someone can arrive at a conclusion on this new series just by looking at it's...

[SOLVED] Seasonic Focus Plus Gold rebranded as Antec Neo Eco Modular Gold?

I got my Antec Earthwatts Gold Pro 750 semi-modular PSU RMA'd and because of the unavailability of this PSU, they replaced me with Antec Neo Eco Gold 750 fully modular PSU. Is the Antec Neo Eco Gold Modular PSU a rebrand of Seasonic Focus Plus Gold. Can this be verified as it houses the same...

[SOLVED] 4 sticks of ddr4 ram 2 brands.

Mixing RAM is not ideal, it will work at the stock speeds but needs many fine tuning to reach some speeds as you need to maintain the worst denominator in the timings between the two sets. [C][G][C][G] is the ideal setup as it at least segments different sticks in two separate channels.

[SOLVED] Ryzen Master issue with Ryzen 5 5600X ?

Facing the same issue with my setup 5600x + B550 Aorus Pro. I think we need an update from AMD either in the software or with new chipset drivers, I'd think the problem is with the Ryzen Master. They have also removed 5600X under Ryzen processors section from the AMD drivers and support page...

[SOLVED] Can't decide on a ram kit.

If you plan to get a high end GPU and play @ 1080p Low then by all means get those sticks x2 and run them @ 3600. Most of the time it will work but if it doesn't simply return them during the return window as they are only rated to work in pairs and you cannot ask for Crucial support in this case.

[SOLVED] Can't decide on a ram kit.

Dual rank will be slightly better than single rank and I do not think it would be much noticeable using GTX 1080. So I would advise you to get a 2*8GB Kit with a minimum rating of 3600. Dual rank will only be significant when your GPU is of high end > RTX 2080. If you have the bank to spend...

    [SOLVED] 3200mzh CL16 or 3600mhz CL17 for new Ryzen

If you are gaming at 1440p or higher get 3600cl18 kit there isn't much difference when you calculate latency between 3200cl16 vs 3600cl18. If you are not going to overclock then get the 3600 rated kit.

    [SOLVED] 3200mzh CL16 or 3600mhz CL17 for new Ryzen

There are certain conditions where the ranks of RAM play a vital role. Do you have a high end GPU > RTX 2080? Do you game at high refresh rate 1080p? If the answer is YES for both, then get 3200Mhz CL16 2x16GB Kit assuming your motherboard has daisy chain. If the answer is NO, then get...

Info Hynix CJR is better than Micron Rev E especially on Ryzen platforms!

Sample size does not matter here as these are how the memory IC's behave, confirmed by memory overclockers like buildzoid. Micron Rev E cannot have tighter timings on the tRC and tRFC which affects the latency but they are capable of reaching higher speeds. Hynix CJR can go tighter on the tRC...

Info Hynix CJR is better than Micron Rev E especially on Ryzen platforms!

I have recently bought Micron Rev E in hopes of achieving 4000+ with 2000+ on FCLK in my 5600X. My processor with the Gigabyte 11d bios was only able to go to 1900 on FCLK for now. Do not update to 11g bios it does not support even 1900 FCLK. First with the Micron Rev E which is Crucial...

[SOLVED] Should I sell my RAM to buy Micron Rev E for Ryzen 5000?

UPDATE I have decided to return the Micron Rev E Kit. As buildzoid stated that Ryzen 5000 won't go past 1900 FCLK and still has the same limitations of the 3000 series processors in terms of memory overclocking, should have guessed it as the IO die is the same on both. Anyways at 3800 Hynix CJR...
