I used the key from the original case. I was on the side of the case and I just reused when I reinstalled. I don't have a "activate windows" anywhere. I had it updating regularly for about 8 month before it kept freezing after "update restarting."

I updated BIOS, firmware, lan drivers and still my downloads fail and BFV is stuck at 96%. I'm going to try and rule out the ethernet port being bad so I'm going to order a usb to ethernet adapter. I need one for my Nintendo Switch anyway.

@alceryes The download issues only started after I reinstalled windows. My old ssd with my OS burned up and I put the new one in. After reinstalling windows, I've had the download issues. I will try and get some Asus drivers though and see how that works.

I didn't feel comfortable taking it apart and I lacked the tools to anything anyway. I took it to a repair guy and both hard drives were burned out. I guess I filled them out too much.

@USAFRet I tried, but it wouldn't power on at all. Then I swapped all the cables. Seasonic said that the old cables would trip the psu, but never said anything about damaging components. It was also working for a week or so with the new psu before the ssd no longer showed up as boot drive.

@popatim I changed to a Seasonic psu, and yes I used the new cables. It didn't work with the old cables until I swapped to the new ones. @fzabkar What do you mean?
