So.. I was about to build new computer and I got ASRock Z370 Taichi with i7-9700k but it seems like I need to update the BIOS to make the CPU work. I currently do not have a processor which works on Z370 Taichi but I can get my friend's i5-8600 to update the BIOS. Will it work?

Hi! When I connect my old laptop HDD to desktop, computer doesn't boot with it being plugged in. When I go to bios, I see it there yes, and when I boot from my normal Windows drive, it doesnt go past ASUS logo. I use SATA cable.
