I second casualcolors recommendation. Zalman's clip-on mic is brilliant for the money.

Its worth considering getting headphones and a clip on mic (like Zalmans) as it opens up a lot more options. Personally I use some studio headphones with a zalman's mic and I've yet to have any issues. Compared the 3 or 4 headsets I've broken in a similar timeframe.

The only time I'll buy physical copies is if there is a cool collectors edition or its cheaper and can be activated on Steam or similar. Its just a lot easier to manage, store and saves time driving to the store or waiting for delivery.

Performance wise that isn't bad at all for the computer. As simon12 said you have a weak graphics card. Your not going to be able to play many games at 1080 without turning the settings down by a lot. This chart should clarify things a lot...

Did you update to the latest drivers? The out of the box drivers tend to be atleast 6 months out of date.

You'd need to buy or borrow a SATA to usb adapter. They can be brought for about £/$10 and will allow you to hook up the old drive to the usb slot then act as a disk.

Try disabling Bitdefender as it looks like its causing the issue. If it works fine with Bitdefender disabled then look into removing the Fallout 3 exe and possibly folder into exceptions.

Personally I think Steam is great, Origin I haven't tried and don't plan on. Steam is great for cheap games (summer sale should be soon), backup (just copy the folder :-p ) and ease of use. Yes it has the odd bug in general if used correctly its fairly hassle free.

Sounds like RA2 probably more with Yuri expansion. RA3 is too new to be classed as an old game, but RA2 does fit the bill.

The cheapest option would be to look in your local paper and pickup a cheap/free second hand desktop. iirc you can use Ubuntu as the OS then just download the linux server files. Otherwise your looking at £/$200+ for a similar setup.
