Minecraft Server

Hey, I host a simple minecraft server off my normal computer and it runs fins. My computer has 16gb of 1333Mhz ram and a shitty athlon II x4. Using a batch file, i dedicated 4gb to the server itself. I had the thought of going to a hosting site but then I saw the prices. So now I'm wondering, is there a cheap server build for a minecraft server?

The cheapest option would be to look in your local paper and pickup a cheap/free second hand desktop.
iirc you can use Ubuntu as the OS then just download the linux server files.

Otherwise your looking at £/$200+ for a similar setup.
