I bought a black DVI dual link

So i just bought the acer gn246hl 144 hz, bought a new dvi d dual link cable cause the monitor ddnt come with its own DVI-D dual link but im stuck at 60hz. I can't go further 60. keep saying i have the wrong cable. my gpu is geforce 1060 3gb oc thanks in advance

Cpu is a 4690k and mobo is a z97 krait. OS is windows 10. Idle temps are slightly above normal at 40s. My temps before were in the 30s only never going pass 40.

Okay thanks guys rn im im debating if i should get gt 730 or 740 for now . i only play csgo and LoL mostly and im not planning on playing high fps games. my plan is if i can get a gpu on my current psu ill upgrade later on by upgrade i mean build a new pc. so 730 or 740 ?
