I guess Microsoft has a real Metro zealot in charge of Windows 8. This release is so anti-desktop that I cannot see businesses adopting it. Who wants their non-touch LCD screen to look like a tablet or smartphone?

I hope there is an option to turn it off. I like my "home tab" just the way I made it!

Even if prices rise 10%, that won't stop me from buying a new motherboard when Ivy Bridge desktop CPUs and associated MB chips come out. :-))

onursPerformance tests show developer tools add no overhead. So they occupy no disk storage or memory? Wow, it's a miracle! And if they never occupy memory, we won't have to worry about some hack exploiting a bug in them.

What percentage of Firefox users are developers? 1%? 2%? So everyone else has to suffer the overheads of developer tools that they have no use for. Another poor choice made by Firefox! Put developer tools in a SDK or integrated development environment, not in the basic product.

I also set update to notify only. I then wait a couple of days to make sure there are no cries of anguish from the user community before I apply the updates.

Oh boy, another new release. I can hardly wait to discover (the hard way) what "feature" has disappeared in the new release.

Good idea, but she wants them on the desktop area. She has about 30 or 40 icons, arranged by purpose (music related, document related, utility, etc) on different parts of the desktop (upper-left, lower-left, lower-right) , so she can find things her way when she wants to start a program. ;)...
