Even if it has 2 connectors at the end,I believe pcie spec for the 8 pin CABLE is 225W. The 3080 can draw over 350W. I think i'll use 2 separate cables. I don't want my epic gaming interrupted by black screens and the smell of wire insulation cooking.

Why does the 8 pin cable going to my graphics card have another 8 pin connector on the end? My 1070 only uses a single 8 pin. I'm thinking of getting the RTX 3080 as soon as it's available. Can I just plug both ends into the 12 pin power adapter?

Just go into the bios and where it has the multiplier set to auto, just type in 37. Go into windows and use CPUID HWMonitor to view processor package temps. 45-50 at idle is fine, you don't want to see it higher than 80-85 under load.

i7 10700k or whatever is one tier below that, maybe i5 10600k. Intel is still fps king in gaming by a small margin. It will hold up well now if you get a 1660ti and in a year or 2 when you drop $700 on some future behemoth GPU.
