    Question Motherboard RAM problem

It's counterintuitive. I thought re-seating the CPU will have no effect as the CPU can only go in one way and it's firmly latched to the MB. I actually took out the CPU to check for bent pins. Oh well...

    Question Motherboard RAM problem

Update. I removed my CPU to check the pins on the motherboard socket. They were all good. After replacing everything I booted up the PC with all 4 DIMM slots populated and it booted into Windows. I think reseating the CPU may have solved the problem. I'm a happy camper now.

    Question Motherboard RAM problem

Thank you for your reply, Misgar. I didn't test my RAM sticks in depth but the if it can boot Windows I consider it fit for use. All contacts in A1 DIMM slot seems normal. With RAM in A2, B1 and B2 Windows booted normally. I transferred the RAM in B1 to A1 and Windows couldn't boot. I think...

    Question Unusual USB Problem

Misgar, you are right! One pin on my motherboard socket for the USB ports (JUSB3) appears to have broken off. This was probably caused by me while clumsily plugging in the connector. There's another USB 3 header on the MB (JUSB4) but I broke the pins on that as well. Well, I guess I have to...

    Question Unusual USB Problem

Hi Misgar, thanks for your detailed reply which must have taken a lot of your time. You've given me ideas on what to check and I will act on them. It's possible that I could have bent one of the pins on the motherboard socket as I had difficulty in plugging in the connector. The Y cable is...

    Question Unusual USB Problem

Hi Ralston, thanks for your reply. The specific USB port isn't important as they are identical. There are usually no USB devices connected on the front panel as they are only used when required to read a USB drive or transfer files to a phone or tablet. The two USB ports go to the single...

    Question Unusual USB Problem

I have an unusual USB problem. One of my two USB 3.0 front panel ports is not working properly while the other works fine. The port which doesn't work properly is able to charge my phone but cannot display the contents of a USB drive. Both USB ports are connected to a single connector which...

Question Is my PSU likely to be the issue? (GPU upgrade)

It's not your PSU. It should be able to run any GPU on idle when it doesn't take much power. If the GPU isn't giving any output the PSU isn't to blame.

[SOLVED] PC restarting when gaming - is this a failing PSU?

There is a clue which points to temperature stress. When you stress test CPU and GPU at the same time it restarted. Monitoring temperature may not be accurate as there may be hotspots on the motherboard which are not monitored. Try this test: Take off your casing panel and blow a fan at the PC...

[SOLVED] Computer Reboots When Playing Games -- Problem Occurred After Cleaning Out My Case

Thanks for your reply and I'm glad you managed to solve your problem. In my case I doubt it's my PSU as it is a new Seasonic FX-750 which should be more than enough to drive my MSI RTX2070 Super Ventus OC (also new). Stress testing my GPU produce no reboots so this is mysterious. However I...
