Question Dell DZ87M01 motherboard clicking noise and wont power on

I just tested with a different PSU and the first one had been pulled from a working machine. Still clicking, and I actually just discovered that the clicking is coming from the motherboard's onboard PC speaker. When I look up this issue all I get is advice for PSU or HDD issues but I don't think...

Question "Illegal Instruction" Error - Linux Gaming on Celeron 333MHz

Both good points. At one point I thought it was the CPU, because I was able to get it to work with 256MB ram before, and then on a different PC with two 128MB modules it didnt run. I think it might be best to use a VM to figure this out. I did have a few errors in VM when I moved to other rooms...

Question Dell DZ87M01 motherboard clicking noise and wont power on

When I press the power button, or anything, nothing happens at all. Just a clicking noise whenever it is plugged in. No fans, LEDs, or beeps. Even with everything except for the 24 pin connected it still gives this clicking noise. I have tried a variety of components to use with it and none seem...

Question "Illegal Instruction" Error - Linux Gaming on Celeron 333MHz

I have been trying to run Undertale on increasingly old hardware. I had success on a Dell Inspiron 8600 using Puppy Linux. I am now trying to run the same exact OS and command on laptops with intel celeron ~300MHz processors. but when I run ./runner or sh run.sh it gives the error "Illegal...

[SOLVED] Two vastly different graphics cards. No CF/SLI but can I get the video output?

I have a fatal1ty fp-in9 sli that I'm not using that I thought I might use to test the graphics cards together. But I am unsure of how to set the SLI mode card since I do not want to use SLI. I will have to find a way to use, I guess windows 10 trial, to test it. I've heard that maybe...

[SOLVED] Two vastly different graphics cards. No CF/SLI but can I get the video output?

I plan on mainly using the component, but our TV is full screen, and locks to widescreen mode when receiving component, so I would like to be able to use composite (or s-video) sometime as well. So I can basically just get any mobo with two PCI-E x16 slots and it will work?

[SOLVED] Two vastly different graphics cards. No CF/SLI but can I get the video output?

I want to have a TV-PORT output from my main computer, but I do not want to switch my graphics card to an older one. I was going to look into getting a newer motherboard that could support two PCI-E graphics card slots, but it seems a little hazy as to what will and wont work. I have an old...

How do I turn a Dell GekkoScience bitcoin-miner PSU into something I can use with my computer

I want to have an extra PSU to test computers with and I have this bitminer PSU sitting around. It says it can output 750W! My other power supply says 500w so I thought if there was a way to rewire it than I could use it with my computer. It has four 6 pin connectors. All I would need is a 24...

Boot up in windows 7 install disc. only background and cursor shows

Yeah. When I figured it out I had been like "I feel so stupid." but when I looked it up, there was nothing that helped. (And as I said before the disk drive slowed a lot so I thought it was done). Thank you for your help though.

Boot up in windows 7 install disc. only background and cursor shows

I have been trying to get a small old Dell computer to work. It's problem was the processor. Now, with a different processor, I am trying to install Windows 7 Home Premium. It boots through the "loading windows files" and then "starting windows", but when it would show the window with the button...
