I was looking at doing some crypto mining affordably. Since video cards are being in short supply and many overpriced I was thinking that a motherboard that has onboard AMD or Nvidia graphic card could be an answer. What do you think?

Bent fins should have no effect on performance. If you can just bend them back a little bit. I have trimmed heatsinks on memory with no issues.

What is your video card? Also is your monitor capable of 60+ fps? If so go to your Nvidia Control Panel and set your fps to 120 or 144.

The motherboard may be bad. Any motherboard with the bad transistors will run if in the bios but will not run Windows or sometimes just turn off.

There is very little difference between the processors. The differences lie in the intergrated gpu's and you have a discreet graphics card.

What operating system are you using? It could be that the registry is so corrupted that windows can't operate correctly. Best advice is to do a fresh install of the operating system.

Check you settings with just one monitor working. See if you are extending your desktop or mirroring it. Let me know.

What operating system are you using? What does your Windows display configuration indicate? Does it see both external monitors?

With an I5 and a GTX 970 you are set up extremely well. Something else is going on for you to have performance problems. Probably with programs running in the background.

You really can't build a much better system.
