Any point in buying an older generation cpu?

A few things to answer your question generally. Newer is generally better. The i7 4770K is on the LGA 1150 socket, which has newer chipsets - such as the Z87 chipset on socket LGA 1150 - available than say the i7 3770K or i7 2600K, which use older chipsets. These newer chipsets include features...

I7 4702mq Clock speed for gaming

It's probably more likely that your GPU is the reason that you are getting poor frames, as your CPU is speedy enough - it will increase to around 2.9 GHz - 3.2 GHz depending on the number of cores being used. A GT 740M powering a full HD screen will not be able to run many games at high settings...

    Xeon w5590 bottleneck sli titans

I don't think it would bottleneck too much. The W5590 has the same arch has the first generation i7s. From the benchmarks I've seen, a first generation i7 920 overclocked to 4.2 GHz will perform roughly the same as an i7 3770K at stock speeds as far as gaming goes. Basically, a W5590 should be...

What processor can my motherboard handle?

Looking up your exact model is a bit difficult. I personally couldn't find any CPU upgrade information, even on some similar models with different ending numbers. As for processors it could handle, I would imagine that any CPU with a similar TDP, and uses the same socket would work I would...

    Software for CPU Fan control?

Are your fans four-pin fans (i.e., PWM fans) or just three-pin fans? If they are just three-pin fans, they cannot be controlled via PWM, and I imagine that's why SpeedFan doesn't work. Sometimes SpeedFan can control fans through voltage, but if I recall, it only works depending on the motherboard.

    Sandy Bridge CPU

While you could get performance from a better CPU, an i7 2600 with a GTX 780, even running @ PCI-E 2.0 x16 specifications wouldn't result in particularly poor performance. Most of your games should play fine, even at 2560 x 1440 resolution.

    What is PSU

As symsus said. A PSU is a power supply, and PSU stands for power supply unit. It takes voltage from your wall sockets, and converts it to voltages which your computer system can use, mainly 3.3V, 5V and 12V. There are three types of PSUs when it comes to cabling - a fully modular PSU allows...

system and power fans antec 900 case and gigabyte motherboard

The motherboard fan header with the four prongs, "SYS_FAN_1" I assume is intended for your CPU cooler, and it allows for variable fan speeds through PWM. The other fans headers only have three prongs, and is intended for all your remaining fans. These fans will run at full speed, assuming you...

    9370 voltage drops

Yes. It's quite possible that you're experiencing such things due to the CPU not being supported by the motherboard. However, it could be overheating as well - it might be throttling back to undervolted speeds to stop overheating. However I think it's more likely the latter. I suggest you check...

    9370 voltage drops

I'm not exactly sure why this is happening. But, considering that on AsRock's website, there is no listed support for the FX 9370, I could imagine that would be a problem. I would also assume that being a 220 W TDP CPU, the motherboard, being a lower-end one with regards to the chipset, might...

Thermaltake armor revo gene and corsiar h100i?!?

The radiator + fans would probably come to around 55mm thick. So that's what you'd be looking for.

monitor wont connect to computer and usb dont work

I think you can only have the RAM in slots 1 & 3 - not just 2 & 4. For just two RAM DIMMs anyway.

monitor wont connect to computer and usb dont work

Moving one of your RAM sticks could be an issue. What motherboard do you have, and which slots did you have to move them to?
