What processor can my motherboard handle?

Currently i have a Acer Aspire v3 731-4472
the current processor is
Intel B960 processor (2.2GHz, 2MB L3 cache)

Looking up your exact model is a bit difficult. I personally couldn't find any CPU upgrade information, even on some similar models with different ending numbers. As for processors it could handle, I would imagine that any CPU with a similar TDP, and uses the same socket would work I would imagine, such as the Intel Pentium B980.

Regardless though, I think that upgrading the CPU on a laptop isn't particularly worth it, especially on models where there is no information with regards to available upgrades.

i think you'd be better off buying a new laptop. or building a new rig you can probably build a decent one for around 300-500 depending on what you want to do on it.

What parts should i got for a new wig?

Here is the sockets that your processor can support: FCPGA988, PGA988

I found a thread somewhat like yours. and the solution came as saying "The i7-2630QM CPU only works with the FCPGA988 socket."

Yes but if it were me buying, I wouldn't trust something cheap like that it could be a dead processor that you're buying. IF you're really wanting an upgrade, I'd say just say up for a desktop as everything is way more interchangeable and easier.

This would be your best choice, Amazon has much better policies on orders and returns.
