HI Guys never mind i think i have sorted it out. I chose 1080p from the desktop properties tab then i scaled it down a bit and then went to windows resolution manager and made changed Icons and text to large. Now it all seems to fit fine and is running at 1080p! Thanks for all your replies

So I've upgraded from a GTX 650 TI to an ASUS Radeon R9 290. While i had the 650TI i had my resolution set at a custom 1366x768- 1080p with some scaling done using the Nvidia control panel. However, now i have my AMD card i cannot seem to set that custom resolution using the Catalyst control...

UPDATE: I decided to put the reset jumper on the power pins and for some reason it's working now, although to turn my computer on i have to push the reset button
