what's your room and case temperature? You can go to the drive's website and there they list the safe operating temps for your device. you can always buy an inexpensive hdd cooler as well.

A good trick would be to remove your case cover. Place a large fan along side the case and have it blow directly on the Mobo on full. Try starting up again. If it stays on longer then you know you have a heat related issue. Simple test.

OK, Have you considered it might be a virus infection and run any scanners on your pc? What was the last thing you did or program you installed before this started happening. Did you try a system restore to a point before this started? Some more info would help.

Acronis True Image has a program that will clone your original drive and move it to a new drive, even though it may be a different size and make. Then just deactivate the original drive. Go to Acronis.com to read more about it.

The first time you register it takes a snapshot of your hardware. If your hardware snapshot has changed significantly from the last time you registered then that sets off the flag. Otherwise you can install it as many times as you wish.
