Initial build, help lower the cost

The help so far has been wonderful, thanks for all the replies guys. It seems like I'll be ordering this from newegg when they get the video cards in. If anyone has anymore comments I'll keep checking back.

Initial build, help lower the cost

I've again changed my mind, I'm going w/ the E2140, which seems to be regularly over-clocking to 3.2 ghz on stock cooling, which is what I want. That surely won't bottleneck the video card will it?

Initial build, help lower the cost

I don't mind the rebates, but it won't break my bank if they don't come. But I will be willing to invest time to make sure I get them. I decided to go w/ the nicer case esp. since it was only 5 more w/ rebate. I can't make myself go w/ the HD3850, its only like 15 cheaper, and it gets...

    matching memory to mobo

OK if i have the gigabyte ds3l which says it supports up to a 1333 fsb would there be any reason to get DDR2 800 over DDR2 667. I've read its best to run memory at the same speed as your actual bus speed (fsb/4), which in the case of the ds3l would be a maximum of 333. This number matches with...

    O/C limits

Ok, if I have the following: GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L Motherboard (FSB 1333/1066MHz) That means that the max FSB that will be useful for my CPU is 1333 which is quad pumped.... so really 333 And that means the max I'd need for DDR2 would be 667 to run at the 1:1 ratio? I'm basically asking...

Initial build, help lower the cost

Ok, went with the E2160 because its a bit cheaper and still preforms well when OCed from what I've read. So yeah I guess I've decided on definitely OCing.

Initial build, help lower the cost

I checked and it seems the a-data ram is working with the mobo listed. Another question I have now is, is it worth the 65 dollars for the E6750, its FSB is faster(1333 compared to 800), it has a larger L2 cache (4mb as compared to 2)and its speed is also faster(2.66 compared to 2.2). It...
