Question Can't boot from new hard drive

Really? It was always a viable tool, and I didn't think there was a reason it would not work anymore... Ok. I'll try again with one of those. Agreed. I warned him, but, he wants to anyway. I already said he would probably be better off with a fresh install with the new hard drive.

Question Can't boot from new hard drive

Hi there... So, a friend's laptop was suddenly acting super slow, and SMART was giving a bunch of hard drive warnings, so I suspected it was the hard drive slowing things down. He didn't want to lose anything, so after he bought a new hard drive (WD Black 500GB 7200 RPM), I proposed to clone...

Question First pc build, any feedback on components?

Looks fine. It might be a good idea to wait and get a Ryzen 3000 series CPU though.

Question PC won't post after power outage

Ok so... I bought a new power supply, aaaaaaaaaaand the issue is still there >_< Main difference? Now the motherboard is in a boot loop rather than remaining on indefinitely, but it still gives the same error code. I cleared CMOS, tried with different graphics cards again, tried both RAM...

Question Less than 60 FPS in games

Yeah... Those temperatures are definitely way too high. The most likely thing right now is that your thermal paste has dried out and no longer conducts well.. For starters; Remove the heat sink Remove all the thermal paste on the CPU and the heatsink. You can use a cloth and rubbing alcohol...

    Question Motherboard not receiving power.

Are you sure you connected all the required power supply cables at the power supply and also at their correct places on the motherboard? Did you connect the graphics card to the power supply as well? At this point it's hard to tell if it's the motherboard or the power supply.

    Question Is it possible

I don't know exactly what you mean... But, a higher static pressure is to allow the fan to overcome the resistances of a heat sink, wire mess, dust filter etc. As long as the static pressure of the fan is higher than the resistance, you will have air flow, and the higher the difference, the...

Question Less than 60 FPS in games

Download HWiNFO; https://www.hwinfo.com/ Start it, click on sensors, let it run in the background while you do your thing, and it will monitor your temperatures. You'll see your max temperature in the long table that has a bunch of sensors.

Question Vega 64 bad temp sensor?

Well, I don't think those spikes are normal. Do those spikes coincide with the load of the GPU, or is it completely 'random'? The HBM temperature is normal. You can expect HBM temperature to be between 80 and 85 degrees C.

Question PC won't post after power outage

Yeah... Seems to be the PSU... I didn't have another one lying around but... I decided to test the power supply by hooking it up to my old system which I didn't sell yet. It's an AM3+ system with an FX 8320 and 16GB of RAM. I hooked it up with an older graphics card (HD6850), and all seemed...

Question PC won't post after power outage

Hey there... I'm having an issue with my Asrock X470 Taichi and I hope someone on here can help me... I've had this motherboard for about 4 months and it has been working fine. Yesterday there was a power outage, and now the motherboard won't post. When I started it after the power outage, I...

Question Vega 64 bad temp sensor?

It's hard to tell whether it's good or not. I hope that it isn't honestly, because rapid temperature changes can cause damage to the GPU more easily.

Question Vega 64 bad temp sensor?

What does the fan speed do when you're getting these spikes? Is it constant or does it ramp up and down just like the temperature? Honestly, the Gigabyte is the worst Vega 56/64 out there, sadly. Many people have issues with them... Hopefully, this will be the biggest issue you have with it...
