Neither....with a quad core you will be able to actually run games that require that cpu, like far cry 4, but i downt think you will any performance at all with that gpu. Your graphics card is the bottleneck, not your cpu. Change that first, but take a look at your psu first.

If you think an i3 can handle far cry 4, you are gonna have a bad time. It doesnt even work with less than 2 cores, yes you can modded to work, but still you will be bottlenecking you graphics card with that cpu. .For that gpu the best thing would be an i5, i would highly recommend you to save...

Download msi afterburner and try with that. HW Monitor also tells me that the core clock is 540 mhz, but its wrong, msi afterburner will tell you the real numbers.

First of all, do you have the horsepower to move games above 60 fps in 1440p? Personally i would choose the ips one, just for that, the response time is irrelevant for me, i used to have a 1ms one and the one i have now has around 15 ms from what ive read on reviews and i cant notice the difference.

Yes, you cant change the cpu without needing to format the drive, because when it boots, windows will look for the fx 6100 and it wont find it.

Get the i5, the i7 is not worth it for gaming, not now, and not in at least 4 years, considering dx 12. Save the money or spend it somewhere else, like the gpu.

Well.... I dont know how much crazy you are with sound noise. But, i bought a wd green hdd, wich is known for been quiet, and i still had the same issues you described, so what i did was, remove all the hard drive cages, placed a lot of foam and stick the hdd inside of it. Not the best looking...

umm, i dont see your system on your signature. but it doesnt matter, the 970 is a great card, even with that memory problem, and at 1200p you wont even use all of the ram, (except with a heavily modded skyrim), Personally i would wait until amd releases the new line up at the end of the month...

where do you live? i would change the psu for an xfx one. even a smaller one, with 500w you will be fine. Not the best mobo on the market, think its the cheapest h97 out there..so it comes with some cons, everything else is fine, maybe get a wd blue hdd instead, but thats just me.
