i think it’s how the motherboard is screwing in; it seems to be too far recessed into the case, if that makes sense? if I unscrew the mobo, the gpu can line up perfectly, but then the mobo is about 0.5cm away fron the back of the case. ah... I seem to be missing some standoff screws?

Sounds like a power issue. How old is your PSU? It's not a great one.

Hi guys, I've just bought an i5 10400f, as well as a H470 mobo and some new ddr4 ram. I'm using an 8GB 480 for my GPU. I was using an i7 3770 on a h61 board previously. After selling the old stuff, it'll probably cost me about £125. Would you guys say this is a worthy upgrade?

If it's a crap 300w PSU, as they often are on prebuilt PCs, it may not be enough. Does your 1050ti require a 6 pin?

It sounds like a memory leak. Compare your RAM usage in the first few seconds of it running vs when it's unbearable

Did you reinstall Windows, or is this the same copy as before? Sometimes Windows takes mobo and CPU changes perfectly and sometimes it can screw it up.

Seems pretty good to me, there is nothing I would change, only 'budget' cuts. That's a very futureproofed build there. Just ensure the mobo is compatible with the RAM and CPU.

Any 120mm fan should work on it. Good fan brands include Antec, Noctua and Scyther. These are expensive though. Anything above a crappy eBay unbranded fan should serve you well.

Are you sure that isn't just Battlefield 1? It's a beta and memory leaks and high CPU usage are probably to be expected in the game anyway, let alone a beta.

The FX series is the obvious choice. An FX-6350 is probably the bare minimum you'd want to pair with that card, ideally it'd be an 8350.

I can't see much about there only being 2.5GB, but, basically, back in the days of the 900 series, they released the GTX 970 with 4GB of VRAM. However, because of the way the GPU worked, only 3.5GB of it was actually usable, the rest was at a much slower speed. I'm assuming they won't make that...
